INTERNALISASI NILAI ISLAM WASATHIYAH DALAM PEMBENTUKAN SIKAP TOLERANSI SANTRI: Di Lembaga Pendidikan Islam Raudlatul Ihsan Angsokah Omben Sampang

This study examines the internalization of wasathiyah Islamic values in shaping the attitude of tolerance of students at the Raudlatul Ihsan Islamic Education Institute. This study is motivated by the increasing need for Islamic educational institutions to strengthen the character of students who are moderate, inclusive, and able to live harmoniously in a pluralistic society. Islam wasathiyah is understood as a religious paradigm that emphasizes balance, justice, tolerance, anti-extremism, and respect for differences. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data is analyzed thematically through the stages of data reduction, categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the internalization of wasathiyah Islamic values is carried out through three main mechanisms, namely the integration of values in classroom learning, the example of teachers and kiai, and the habituation of social behavior in pesantren life. This process contributes to forming an attitude of tolerance of students, such as the ability to respect differences, maintain harmony, avoid narrow fanaticism, and build polite and peaceful social relations. This finding confirms that pesantren has a strategic position as a space for moderate character education based on Islamic values. The contribution of this research lies in the affirmation that the internalization of wasathiyah does not only take place through knowledge transfer, but also through culture, example, and daily social practices.
