EKOSUFISME DALAM PENDIDIKAN PESANTREN: Integrasi Nilai Tasawuf dan Kesadaran Ekologis Santri

Abstract

This study aims to analyze eco-sufism in pesantren education as an integration between Sufism values and the formation of ecological awareness of students. This study departs from the assumption that ecological crises do not only stem from technical problems, but also from spiritual and ethical crises of human beings in looking at nature. The research used a mixed approach with a sequential explanatory design, starting with quantitative data collection through a questionnaire of 150 students, then continuing with qualitative data collection through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data was analyzed thematically. The findings of the study showed that the internalization of Sufism values was in the very good category with a percentage of 84.0%, while the ecological behavior of students was in the good category with a percentage of 79.2%. The values of zuhud, qana'ah, gratitude, amanah, ihsan, and mahabbah towards nature are internalized through religious learning, the example of kiai and ustaz, spiritual advice, and a culture of simple living. The practice of ecosophism is realized through environmental cleanliness, community service, waste management, water conservation, plant care, and reduction of wasteful behavior. This research contributes to the development of an ecological education model based on Islamic spirituality by emphasizing that pesantren can be a strategic space for the formation of ecological piety of students.
