Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy

1. Policy Statement

Wacana Equiliberium (Jurnal Pemikiran Penelitian Ekonomi), published by Universitas Islam Madura and managed by the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Islam Madura, is committed to maintaining the accessibility, integrity, security, and long-term availability of its published scholarly content.

The journal recognizes digital preservation as an essential component of responsible scholarly publishing and seeks to ensure that its published articles remain accessible to researchers, academic institutions, and the wider public.

2. Electronic Archiving

The journal uses Open Journal Systems (OJS), developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), as its electronic journal management and publishing platform.

Published articles and journal issues are made publicly accessible through the journal's official online archive:

https://journal.uim.ac.id/index.php/equilibrium/issue/archive

The journal maintains published article files and associated bibliographic metadata to facilitate access, discovery, and scholarly citation.

3. Digital Preservation through PKP Preservation Network

Wacana Equiliberium is implementing the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN) as part of its long-term digital preservation strategy.

The PKP PN is designed to support the preservation of scholarly journal content through a distributed digital preservation infrastructure based on LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) technology.

The journal has initiated the configuration of the PKP PN plugin within its OJS platform. Registration and deposit processes are subject to technical verification and successful processing by the preservation network.

Until successful deposit and preservation have been confirmed, the journal does not represent its published content as already preserved within the PKP PN.

Information regarding the journal's participation and preservation status will be updated as implementation progresses.

4. Data Backup and Security

The journal recognizes the importance of appropriate data backup, information security, and recovery procedures in supporting publication continuity.

The publisher and managing institution coordinate with the relevant technical administrators to establish and maintain suitable arrangements for safeguarding the journal's digital resources, including article files, publication metadata, and essential journal management information.

Operational data backup and long-term digital preservation are treated as complementary activities with distinct purposes.

5. Integrity of the Scholarly Record

Wacana Equiliberium is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of its published scholarly record.

When corrections, retractions, or other post-publication amendments are necessary, the journal will follow its publication ethics policies.

Relevant notices will be clearly identified and linked to the affected publications to maintain transparency and accountability.

6. Continuity of Access

The journal aims to maintain continuous public access to its published scholarly content through its official website and electronic archives.

In the event of technical disruption, changes in journal management, or platform migration, the publisher and managing institution will seek appropriate measures to restore access and protect the continuity of the scholarly record.

7. Responsibility and Policy Review

The implementation of this policy is coordinated by the editorial management of Wacana Equiliberium, the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Islam Madura, and the relevant technical administrators.

This policy will be reviewed periodically to reflect developments in the journal's preservation infrastructure, technical capabilities, and recognized scholarly publishing practices.
