Pelatihan Pencegahan Gangguan Metabolisme Kronis Melalui Konseling dan Pemeriksaan Kadar Gula Darah
Abstract
Sebagian besar masyarakat di Karangbesuki belum sepenuhnya memiliki kesadaran terhadap skrining kesehatan dan gangguan metabolisme kronis, salah satunya diabetes melitus. Diabetes melitus diakibatkan oleh kegagalan sistem endokrin untuk mengontrol kadar glukosa darah dalam batas normal. Kadar gula puasa yang normal umumnya berkisar antara 70-110 mg/dl, sedangkan seseorang dikatakan menderita diabetes jika kadar glukosa darah dalam selang waktu 2 jam sama dengan atau melebihi 180 mg/dl. Tujuan kegiatan skrining kesehatan di Karangbesuki yakni meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat untuk melakukan pemeriksaan kesehatan secara rutin. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah pelaksanaan skrining melalui pemeriksaan gula darah, serta pemberian konseling kepada masyarakat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa setelah dilaksanakan pemaparan materi dan skrining, sebagian besar masyarakat memiliki peningkatan pengetahuan dan berkeinginan untuk menindaklanjuti hasil skrining yang diselenggarakan dengan melakukan pemeriksaan di puskesmas terdekat kemudian hari.
