Abstract

One of the potential institutions is an agricultural cooperative. Agricultural cooperatives (or agribusiness cooperatives, farmer cooperative units) serve as a platform for farmers to cooperate in procuring production facilities, marketing their produce, joint processing, or access to financing. Cooperatives can strengthen farmers' bargaining positions, reduce transaction costs, accelerate technology adoption, and strengthen agricultural value chains. Sanren cooperatives in their operations already use good management and governance, but to understand the performance of these cooperatives, a comprehensive evaluation is needed regarding their management in terms of finance, operations, institutions, and sustainability aspects (environmental and social). The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of Sanren cooperatives in supporting sustainable agriculture. This research is descriptive in nature. The research method is a case study. Sampling is conducted using purposive sampling. Data analysis methods. Using the 2018 cooperative ranking guidelines created by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia, the research results show that the performance of agricultural cooperatives is very good (A) in all components, namely the Cooperative Institutional Aspect (80%), the cooperative business aspect received an average score of 84, the cooperative financial aspect achieved a result of 82.5, the aspect of benefits of the cooperative to its members (89.1%), and the learning aspect for members achieved a result of 96.6%. With this good performance assessment, it can be seen that the sanren cooperative contributes to sustainable agriculture in Pamekasan
