Identifikasi Cemaran Logam Berat Pada Kerang Hijau Di Kawasan Perairan Kabupaten Pandeglang

Pandeglang Regency in Banten Province is a coastal area with abundant marine resources, including green mussels (Perna viridis), which are widely consumed by local communities. However, increasing industrial, fishery, agricultural, and residential activities, as well as the presence of the Labuan Steam Power Plant (PLTU), may increase the risk of heavy metal contamination in coastal waters. This study aimed to identify heavy metal contaminants and analyze the concentrations of lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), and iron (Fe) in green mussels, as well as compare the results with food safety standards established by BPOM Regulation No. 09 of 2022 and SNI 7387:2009. The study was conducted from June to August 2025 in the waters of Lada Bay, Panimbang District, Pandeglang Regency. Green mussel samples were collected from three locations: Location A (Citeureup), Location B (Taman Jaya), and Location C (Labuan), during two sampling periods. Heavy metal concentrations were analyzed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) at the Fish Health and Environmental Testing Center (BPKIL) Laboratory in Serang Regency. The results showed that Fe was consistently detected at all locations during both sampling periods. Pb was detected at all locations during the first period but only at Location C during the second period. Cd was detected at all locations during the second period at relatively low concentrations. The highest concentrations of Fe, Pb, and Cd were 1,049.1, 0.84, and 0.055 mg/kg, respectively. Based on BPOM and SNI standards, Fe concentrations exceeded the permissible threshold in all samples, while some Pb concentrations exceeded BPOM limits but remained within SNI standards. All Cd concentrations were below the safety threshold. These findings indicate potential heavy metal contamination, particularly Fe, highlighting the need for continuous monitoring and pollution control to protect public health and ensure the safety of marine products.
