Beyond Use Date (BUD) refers to the safe period for using a medication after its primary packaging has been opened, which differs from the Expired Date (ED) that applies before the packaging is opened. The use of drugs beyond the ED or BUD may reduce their effectiveness and safety. Because BUD information is not always stated on the drug packaging, pharmaceutical personnel must have adequate knowledge to ensure proper drug use and patient safety. This study aimed to determine the level of knowledge of pharmaceutical personnel regarding the Beyond Use Date (BUD) of medicines in community pharmacies in Kota District, Sumenep Regency. This research employed a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire distributed to 48 pharmaceutical personnel, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The results showed that the majority of respondents were female (85.42%) and all respondents were within the productive age group (15–64 years). The level of knowledge was categorized as good in 79.16% of respondents and adequate in 20.84%, with no respondents categorized as having poor knowledge. These findings indicate that most pharmaceutical personnel have a good understanding of BUD; however, continuous education and training are still necessary to improve their understanding of technical aspects related to BUD implementation in pharmaceutical practice
