STUDY OF KNOWLEDGE AND APPLICATION OF INDONESIAN TRADITIONAL MEDICINE IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE BODY'S IMMUNE SYSTEM.

Abstract

The community works to maintain health, prevent sickness, and provide health care in a variety of ways. One method is to boost the immune system of the body utilizing conventional medicine. This necessitates the acquisition of the necessary information, attitude, and experience. The goal of this study is to determine the level of knowledge, attitudes, and practices among the people of Subang Regency regarding the use of traditional medicines that are effective in boosting the immune system. With a cross sectional design, this study takes a quantitative approach. The snowball sampling approach was used for the sampling. Respondents who were over the age of 17 were chosen for this study. The data was then analyzed with IBM SPSS 24.0. There were 389 people that took part in this study. The results revealed that 65.8% of respondents had a good understanding of the use of traditional medicine, with 99.7% of respondents responding positively. Meanwhile, traditional medicine has been used by 97.7% of respondents. The correlation coefficient is 0.223, indicating that there is a very weak association between the knowledge and attitude variables. Even if the ratio of attitudes and practices is fairly high, this survey shows that the people of Subang Regency still lack information about traditional medicine. To improve public awareness of the benefits and processing of effective traditional medicines, comprehensive education on traditional medicine must be disseminated.
